BloomingtonTHEN & NOW began as Bloomington Fading, a husband-and-wife effort on facebook to document the many changes in the Bloomington landscape. The projects following grew to thousands who shared their passion for our unique and vibrant city, adding their own contributions.
Using side-by-side and super-imposed photographs, readers gain perspective of how Bloomington has evolved over the last 100 years. Historic information, newspaper clipping, and accounts and stories from long-time residents add context and depth to over 160 photographs.
The result of the authors’ tireless effort and the broad community support await you in the pages of BloomingtonTHEN & NOW.

"Bloomington is a community working hard for a better future while simultaneously valuing the past. It's crucial for us to remember what's been lost in order to actively protect what we've got. Bloomington Then and Now reminds us that our community character cannot be taken for granted." ~ Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan
"The book is extraordinary. I enjoy it and its importance will grow in the years to come as part of capturing our history." ~ Diane Ballard, Monroe County History Center Managing Director
